Thank you for your interest in the 20th Annual Hanks Jazz Festival!

This year we are proud to be bringing in as our guest clinician trombonist Vincent Gardner.

Mr Gardner is the Instructor of Jazz Trombone at Michigan State University, and Adjunct Instructor at The New School in New York City, and also participating in numerous educational settings with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra. Mr. Gardner has also participated in a number of notable recordings, including Marcus RobertsBlues for the New Millennium, Nicholas Payton’s Grammy Nominated Dear Louis, and Wynton MarsalisAll Rise

Also returning to El Paso after popular demand, trumpet player, composer, and educator Sean Jones

2010 was certainly a year of change for the trumpeter. In the spring he stepped down from his position as Lead Trumpeter of Wynton Marsalis Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, a position that Jones held for over half a decade. Additionally, he formed a new relationshipwith Marcus Miller, joining the bassist this past summer for a European tour.Here is a link to his web page for more info! Sean Jones

DIRECTOR OF THE UMASS AMHERST FINE ARTS CENTER; PROFESSOR OF MUSIC EDUCATION

Dr. Willie Hill is Director of the Fine Arts Center at the University of Massachusetts Amherst and a Professor in Music Education. He received his B.S. degree from Grambling State University and earned M.M. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Colorado-Boulder.
